My favorite season of the year is award season, I've been following the Oscars my entire life.
This blog exists for the same reason film awards exist:
1. To give the great films of the year the attention they deserve.
2. To further rant and yell opinions about what deserves the best, in order to spark arguments, brawls, riots, and more competition in the already laborious Hollywood film industry.
3. To keep everyone up on what movies everybody else is watching, so we can all have seen the same movies and find new connections with other people or reasons to hate them even more.
Basically, the yearly film awards (at least try to) honor the most impacting films of the year, therefore keeping the title, "art form" on movies, by getting movie makers to treat their craft as such.
And for those who think most films honored exist just to make money, remember, that film is art form as well.
